I’m painting the beadboard, he’s putting it up..

It must always involve corn!.I tried hanging those lights up across the back of the room thinking it would just look like a disaster and the black plastickyness of the cord would clash with all the natural elements I had in mind.

The Fall fair is a place where flashy lights mix perfectly with corn mazes, food stands, displays of pumpkins and mums, and plenty of live stock.. Every Fall on (Canadian) Thanksgiving long weekend, there’s a Fall fair here that we really enjoy going to.I thought this would be a great way to set the mood..

I used plenty o’ corn, and some rubber boots for stomping through all that mud when you’re visiting the horses and chickens.. $3 mums from Walmart get all fancy in a galvanized pail with some burlap and ribbon.

My mason jar light.I love feeling a little more at peace with the world in general when I walk into this room.. There’s one more fun little update that we’ve done in here recently too, and it’s made a big impact.

I’ll have that for you later this week!I just love this Back to School time of year. It’s like a second New Year’s Day for me where I feel like it’s time to get things organized, make big plans, and just generally have a fresh start.

With the new baby on the way at the end of the year, I’m definitely motivated to get our household running smoothly..So I made a list!
