Platform office design prototype with Landsec, Easi Space and Innovate UK
It’s a wood and furniture polish that I applied with just a plain soft wash cloth that I use for cleaning!
I started reading around the interwebs to see if there had been any new developments in this field.Somewhere deep in the comments section of some dark corner of the internet, I saw someone mention that putting a wedge of white onion in with a bowl of guacamole would keep it from going brown.
Something about the sulfuric acid that the onion released.Well, I didn’t have any white onion but I did have some green onion, so I just sliced the white parts of those up and a bit of the green too and put them in a container.. It’s an old sour cream container for the record. The idea is that you want something airtight.
I left the pit in the half of the avocado that I didn’t use just for good measure and placed it face down on top of the sliced onion so they’d have as much contact as possible.. Then I put the lid on, stuck the whole thing in the fridge, and waited until lunch time the next day.I was very hopeful since my lunch from the day before had been so delicious and I wanted to make it again!.
It actually worked!.
It’s really no more brown than it would be from being out in the open air for 5 minutes! The cornice kit that I was using had a 9″ drop (height) total, but they also come in chunkier sizes with 12″ and 15″ drops, so you’d cut wider strips for those sizes.. All I had to do was lay my fabric over the cornice and use the tuck tool to push it into the cracks on the front and the back to secure it in place!
I started with the two outer strips and finished off in the middle.I learned that it’s very forgiving and any extra you have peeking out can be tucked away into the cracks, never to be seen again!.
I went for this really simple look, but you can also add in cording, or beading or really any kind of trim you like along the two “seams” in the middle to separate the three sections.Just make sure you get the kind of trim with a tab on it, so you can tuck it in and leave just the cording or trim showing.
